I had the luck and joy to win one of the door prizes at the PWG lunch in May. It was a white chocolate cheesecake with a fudge brownie crust made by Moses T's Home Cooking, a catering company in Burlington. It was 6 pounds of pure goodness - creamy, rich, sweet but not too sweet, and smooth. My Sweetheart, Ruben, and the other 6th grade teachers at McDougle Middle School in Carrboro were lucky to share it, too. They smiled for the first time in days, delighted in being nurtured in this sensual, delicious way. The cake is now long gone and was much appreciated. It was a generous gift, and obviously a labor of love.

I have been attending the PWG luncheons for abour 2, maybe 3, years now. I always enjoy meeting new wedding vendors and visiting with those I see frequently at the luncheons. These gatherings are a great informal way to get to know other wedding service providers outside the busy setting of a wedding when we are all "at work." Everyone knows that networking with other professionals in your industry is a lifeline to any small business. By attending monthly luncheons hosted by the PWG I was able to network with other wedding professional vendors which has proven to be very beneficial. In particular, I worked with a bride who wanted to get married with only two weeks to plan the wedding event for over 100 guests. I simply contacted vendors associated with PWG who were more than willing to participate on short notice and deliver a host of services for my client.
